Thank you for visiting with Bound and Determined, a bluegrass gospel group from West Hamlin, WV.

Bound and Determined has four members Pamela Wheeler plays rythym guitar and sing lead vocals. Jamie Stratton plays mandolin, harmonica, lead and harmony vocals and also produces our albumns. Tim Stratton plays lead guitar. Last but not least DeeDee Cooper who plays the bass, sings harmony and at least one lead vocal on every cd. Jamie and I started Bound and Determined six years ago but we have been playing Gospel music for about 13 years. I have always loved to sing and when I was 30 my uncle prayed a prayer that someone in the family would carry on what him and my aunt had done for God for 40 years which was play and sing Gospel music. When I woke up one morning with the desire to learn to play the guitar I went to my uncle and ask him to teach me and he told me about the prayer and he looked at me and said, I never dreamed it would be you.Iget a laugh out of that every time I think of it but I am So thankful That God chose me to carry on His music.
Jamie started playing harmonica when he was about 11 years old. When he would play in Church he was so small you couldn't even see him over the pulpit. Then one day I decided to get a mandolin so I traded an old 4-10 shotgun and $175 to boot for one at a flea market and i leraned the basic chords on it showed them to jamie and he has been playing every since.Jamie can also play the bass and a little guitar. God has really blessed Jamie and it shows through his music.Jamie is also my nephew.
Tim Who is Jamies dad and my brother were the next to join the group. He has been playing guitar since he was 3 years old. He said one of the first memorys he has as a child is standing in front of a mirror holding a little guitar our dad had got him.He plays in the old carter style pickin and is also learning the banjo which he already does a great job on it but he is a great blessing to the group.
DeeDee was the last to come to the group. When she started playing with us she was playing the mandolin, but we didn't need a mandolin player we needed a bass player. so we prayed about it and she bought a bass and i heard her play in church and God bless her heart she had no idea how to play it. So we kept praying and the Lord put it upon me to call her so trusting in the Lord I did and jamie helped her with the bass and today she is in my book one of the best bass players I know. She also has a big Dog house bass which she is learning and is doing great. I am so thankful that I listened to the Lord that day and called because she completed our group.

Praise the Lord
